Saturday evening was magical, with several dozen Summit Circle members joining us for a rare treat: beautiful wines, delicious hors d'oeurves, a gorgeous sunset, and most remarkable of all, a spectacular performance of Parisian jazz by some of the Bay Area's favorite musicians, Duo Gadjo. Isabelle Fontaine and Jeff Magdison's style of "Gypsy Jazz", largely inspired by the sounds of Paris in the 1920s and 1930s, was perfect for the evening, with Isabelle on vocals and guitar, Jeff on guitar and two very talented friends on violin and bass. The two offered commentary on the history of the music they were performing and welcomed a lively discussion during a Q&A at the end. In keeping with the theme, sweet little boxes of macarons provided a fun take-away treat!
