2022 Chardonnay

Vibrant aromatics of lime and orange blossom explode at the first sip of our 2022 Chardonnay, offering a brilliant introduction to this wine.  The floral notes interplay beautifully with hints of quince, subtle hazelnut and zesty citrus. Nuanced, perfectly balanced and delightful, this wine continues to please long after the glass has been put down. Lively acid and the tension it imparts not only makes this wine exciting to taste today but ensures enjoyability for the next 5-8 years and beyond.

The 2022 Chardonnay has delicately played, soft-spoken scents of apple butter, lemongrass, and persimmons with hints of sea spray, marzipan, and beeswax. The medium to full-bodied palate is elegant and refreshing, with a silky texture and a pure, citrusy lift on the finish.

The 2022 Chardonnay is produced from purchased fruit, but don't discount the wine for that. It's a bright, fresh effort, all barrel-fermented but with only 10% new oak; just 30% of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation. Toasted almond notes accent pear, melon and pineapple fruit in this plump, medium to full-bodied wine that seems tropical at times but finishes crisp and lemony.

  • Antonio Galloni Vinous: The 2021 Napa Valley Cabernets, Part One (Dec 2023) - Rating: 91

The 2022 Chardonnay (Napa Valley) has quite a bit of density and power-surprisingly so. Lemon confit, marzipan, herbs and white flowers are nicely delineated. Partially blocked malolactic fermentation keeps the flavors brisk. What stands out most is the wine's mid-palate richness. Bright saline notes play off lightly tropical overtones on the finish.

Bright citrus, orange blossom, white flowers, and a kiss of minerality all emerge from the 2022 Chardonnay from Pride, a medium-bodied, clean, classy Chardonnay that has sweet fruit, good balance, and outstanding length.
