2011 Vintner Select Chardonnay
The cool 2011 vintage provided the perfect growing conditions for ripening our estate chardonnay to a beautiful richness while maintaining a crisp, distinct acidity. The wine displays a complex range of flavors including melon, green apple, pear and jasmine and has a lovely agility and brightness on the palate. For the first time, grapes from our younger block of Dijon Clone 96 were utilized in the final blend, bringing in exotic notes that provide an exciting lift to the core of unctuous Clone 4. As it has been for the last few years, the wine is fermented in French oak of which only 25% is new, and malolactic fermentation is arrested at about 30% completion.
