The 2023 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is an exuberant wine balancing power and refinement. Building upon the legacy of our Rock Arch block of cabernet that was planted in 1980, it expresses the depth and complexity provided by those 45-year-old vines, enhanced by the dark-fruit intensity of the 12-year-old blocks we cultivated from Rock Arch cuttings. Aromas are dominated by plum, mulberry and black current, but given time in the glass, the intricate fruit recedes just enough for cigar box, leather and sage to rush to the forefront. The harmony of fruit and savory holds true on the palate as the dark black fruits thrum with a crushed rock minerality. Braced by a velvety tannin structure, the supple texture and fruit create a finish that seems to stretch on forever.
