Brimming with cedar, bay leaf, blackberry and baked clove, the 100% varietal 2021 Vintner Select Cabernet Sauvignon is complete unto itself, possessing tannins that are firm but relenting and fruit that is forward but supple. Blending in Petit Verdot would make it more substantial but less elegant. Merlot might broaden the focus but push it toward cloying. Our VS Cabernet represents the purest essence of cabernet sauvignon we can make, possessing a powerful elegance that makes it more akin to a cathedral than a castle. Like the classic Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Vintners Select is also from Sonoma County. It's a medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated, textured 2021 that has the vintage s focused, elegant style. Blackcurrants, leafy tobacco, damp earth, and a kiss of graphite all define the aromatics, and it's a beautifully layered, elegant, age-worthy Cabernet that will evolve for 15+ years.

This wine is deeply colored and structured, with vibrant black cherry, plum and tobacco wafting from the nose. The spicy and vibrant palate offers brandy-soaked cherry, caramel, dark chocolate and licorice on the way to a grippy finish. This wine would benefit from a decade or more in the cellar. — Tom Capo

All Cabernet Sauvignon (mainly Clone 337), the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Vintner's Select release is only 700 cases. Hints of dried herbs and earth accent black cherries and cassis on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is framed by firm but ripe tannins, then finishes with mouthwatering acids.
