2019 Vintner Select Chardonnay

Classic aromas of green apple, quince, menthol, chamomile, intense minerality and subtle flintiness. Texturally, it is smooth and round on the attack with slowly building acidity that leads to a long finish loaded with ever mounting verve and excitement.  This is one of the highest-acid and lowest-alcohol chardonnays we have ever made, possessing gorgeous cut and balance and intense flavor with the only trace of the 15% new oak being a subtle retro-nasal baking spice note that emerges late.  Though the grapes are whole-cluster pressed to minimize phenolic extraction, the richness of the attack and the brightness of the finish is a testament to this wine’s mountain pedigree.

The 2019 Chardonnay Vintner Select offers lovely density and oiliness, all while staying light on its feet. Tangerine oil, mint, yellow flowers and pear give the 2019 terrific vertical depth. This is such a pretty and expressive Chardonnay.
