This classic chardonnay possesses a panoply of beautifully nuanced flavors including Bosc pear, Honeycrisp apple, candied lemon rind, citrus zest, sage and white pepper.  Rich, full and creamy on the attack, the wine transitions seamlessly to an energetic verve on an uplifting, flavor-filled, finish.  Yet another gorgeous example of our mountaintop chardonnay. 

The Vintner Select Chardonnay, which is typically about 250 cases each vintage, has contributions from all three of our chardonnay blocks (Dijon clone 70, the Wente clone and clone 4).  Our property makes a chardonnay that has upfront textural richness due to the abundant sunlight but has gorgeous scintillating acidity on the finish due to our cool afternoon temperatures.  The flavors are always classic, featuring crisp apple, citrus and floral notes among other nuances. Although we make another chardonnay from off-site vineyards, the Vintner Select Chardonnay is made 100% from the fruit on our property.  Within the world of high-end chardonnay, this wine has its own unique high-elevation personality that all of us at the winery are thrilled by each vintage.
